James had always seen himself as a good person. He attended church, volunteered, and avoided “big sins.” But one day, during a Bible study on Matthew 5, he read Jesus’ words: “Anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” (Matthew 5:28)
James was shaken. He realized that sin wasn’t just about actions—it was about the heart. He started to see pride, envy, and selfishness in his thoughts and attitudes. Though he appeared “good” on the outside, his heart needed transformation.
This story reminds us that sin is deeper than behavior—it’s a condition of the heart. Come to the Discipleship class, ‘What is Sin?’, and discover how sin affects our hearts and why Jesus’ sacrifice is the only solution.
