COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is designed to introduce students to cross-cultural communications. The student will be given tools for more accurately communicating the gospel across cultures. The course will approach cross-cultural communications from a cultural/ethnic viewpoint, as well as a religious viewpoint. More theoretical cross-cultural issues will be covered in depth in the cultural anthropology class. The major emphasis will be upon practical skills to carry out the task of communicating the gospel cross-culturally. Students will be guided to understand the difference between syncretism, accommodationism, and evangelical contextualization.
About Dr.FORREST SPEARS:
Dr. Spears is the pioneering director of the Equipping Center which was pioneered in 2012. He has an earned missiological PhD in Intercultural Studies and is passionate about equipping you for ministry in a cross-cultural context.
