On the Christian calendar, Lent (from Latin, meaning “fortieth”) is the 40 days leading up to Easter Sunday. Technically, there are 46 days since Sundays aren’t counted in Lent (Sundays are seen as “mini-Easters” leading up to the Church’s climatic celebration of Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection). Lent is a special time for the church to repent of sin and remember the hope we have in Jesus.
Over the next forty days we, as a church family, will journey together through the Gospel of Matthew that we might center our hearts on Jesus. Each day of Lent will include a short video devotional (4-7 minutes) given by one of our church members.
It is our hope that these devotionals will remind us of who Jesus is and why He came. Only when we get a right vision of Jesus will we truly be a community unwaveringly committed to the passionate, scriptural, worship of our Savior who is worthy of all glory, majesty, and authority.
