TranslationWhat is this Ministry?• The Translation Ministry offers simultaneous translation to people attending our Sunday morning celebration services. It also offers this service at occasional special events. Languages that we have offered in the past include Mandarin, French, Korean, and Japanese. What is my commitment? How often? What do I do?• The commitment is based on your availability. Ideally we would have a different translator for each language each week. This would mean that you serve for one of the services each month. However, if the team is small, it might mean serving as much as twice a month. Do I need any training? How can I get it?• The BICF ZGC does not offer the foundational language training to be a translator. However, we do have occasional training seminars for simultaneous translation. Training on how to use the equipment is given when you agree to join the team. What should I do to get involved? Who do I contact?• Contact Jeremy Patterson, the office administrator ( admin.english.zgc(a)bicf.org ). Why should I do this ministry?• The unique international nature of the BICF means that many people come to our service for whom English is not their first language. This ministry allows the Word of God and the blessings of the service to reach these people in their native language. It’s communicating the Word to people who long to hear! |
