Library

What is this Ministry?

• We have a library at the BICF ZGC that gives members access to all kinds of Christian literature—fiction, commentaries, spiritual resources. This ministry helps to process new book donations, take care of the library facilities, help people check out books and plan future activities.

What is my commitment? How often? What do I do?

• This depends partly on your interest. Some volunteers agree to sit in the library once a month between services or after the second service to help people check out books. If this level of commitment is for you, you’ll be asked to commit one hour, once a month. Other volunteers have slightly more time to come in occasionally and process books, adding them to the shelves.

Do I need any training? How can I get it?

• Yes, there is some training involved. You have to be trained on the computer program we use to check out books and, if you’re willing to help enter new books in the computer, you need to be trained in the process. Training can happen in about 20-30 minutes. There are training sessions for library volunteers occasionally throughout the year.

What should I do to get involved? Who do I contact?

• Contact Iphie ( iphieg(a)yahoo.com ) or Rob Eberz ( zgc(a)bicf.org ), if you’d like to get involved.

Why should I do this ministry?

• Providing Christian resources for people in our church is a pleasure and a privilege. It’s not always easy to find books to encourage the heart or that you can use in your ministry. However, working in the library facilitates all kinds of Christian work. Plus you get access to all kinds of wonderful books! Come give it a try.
