Administration
What is this Ministry?
• Administration is the catch-all term for the work that needs to be done to keep the church running. But it’s a ministry! Some things to do are contacting newcomers, preparing the bulletin, decorating the office space and recruiting volunteers. And if you have the gift of organization, this ministry is for you!
What is my commitment? How often? What do I do?
• ZGC has a full-time administrator so if you’re interested in helping, you won’t have to come up with the projects! There are many small things to do to keep a church running. One option is to come once a week in the afternoon for a couple hours. You’ll be given a project (ex. decorating one of the rooms or updating an inventory). Then you can come in whenever you want to finish it.
Do I need any training? How can I get it?
• Some tasks require training: Creating the bulletin or managing the room calendar but it will be provided by the ZGC administrator. Other training also happens on the job.
What should I do to get involved? Who do I contact?
• Contact the ZGC Administrator—Rob Eberz (zgc(a)bicf.org) or call the office at 8286-2813.
Why should I do this ministry?
• Administration is the “behind-the-scenes” grunt work that helps everything else function smoothly. If you get pleasure from seeing a job well done and have the gift of service, then you can contribute. We are a body and each part has its role. Praise the Lord! |

Counseling Ministry
What is this Ministry?
• The Counseling Ministry in the BICF seeks for ways to speak to people’s heart in our congregation, providing professional counseling, personal prayer, a listening ear, and a trusted friend to people in our congregation in need.
What is my commitment? How often? What do I do?
• Your involvement with the counseling ministry could take many forms. It might mean you are a prayer counselor on Sunday after the service. It might mean you are available to counsel international students who are lonely. It might mean that you help to run training seminars or coordinate lunches for newcomers to Beijing.
Do I need any training? How can I get it?
• We have occasional training classes for lay counselors. We also have resources that you could use if you’d like to be involved. If counseling is a passion of your heart, working together with some of our more experienced counselors will give you a place to start.
What should I do to get involved? Who do I contact?
• Contact Alison Wong (richardnalison(a)gmail.com) or the office (zgc(a)bicf.org) if you’d like more information.
Why should I do this ministry?
• Counseling provides a way to minister to the hearts of others. We are all foreigners in a strange land. And the wounds of people are many. But by using your gifts, you can encourage people and build them up, just like Jesus did. If you feel a call to minister to others through encouragement and counseling, please consider getting involved. |

Media
What is this Ministry?
• The media ministry in the church helps prepare promotion materials, banners, booklets, cards, video announcements, brochures and any other published material that can be used in general church activities.
What is my commitment? How often? What do I do?
• Your commitment is to be part of a pool of people that are willing to help with media needs and projects as they come up. For example, if you were part of this ministry, the administrator of the church or perhaps a ministry leader might contact you and ask if you were willing/able to help design a banner for them. If you’re free, your commitment would be to make the banner for them in a timely fashion.
Do I need any training? How can I get it?
• If this is a ministry that interests you and you have no prior experience, there might be some training available alongside a more experienced volunteer. However, in general, the BICF does not provide the training to be involved in the Media Ministry.
What should I do to get involved? Who do I contact?
• If you’d like to help or be involved with some current projects, please contact the office ( zgc(a)bicf.org ).
Why should I do this ministry?
• Media, banners, brochures, cards, publications, these are often the face that the world sees as they look at the church. If you have experience and would like to bless the church in this crucial, practical skill, don’t hesitate to get involved. |

Prayer Ministry
What is this Ministry?
• The main function of the Prayer Ministry is to pray during the services, for the service, the speaker, and the people. We also pray with the speaker before the service.
What is my commitment? How often? What do I do?
• Your commitment is to pray while the service is going on. How often depends mainly on how many people are involved with the team. The goal is to have a two month rotation of people, such that each member would pray through the service once very two months. If you would like to pray more often than that, then we can work something out! • You will also be given a one-page simple guide for you to follow.
Do I need any training? How can I get it?
• No training needed. We, as a prayer team, will have a short meeting sometime in the near future (between services) where you can ask questions and will be given more direction. Beyond this, you only need to have a relationship with the Lord and be willing to talk to him during the service.
What should I do to get involved? Who do I contact?
• Contact the office: zgc(a)bicf.org or you can contact Michael Knapp, the leader of the Prayer Ministry, at truth4asia(a)yahoo.com.
Why should I do this ministry?
• Because Heaven is counting on you for this! God wants to do great things in BICF and in Beijing . . . but some of what he wants to will only follow the prayer that he wants his people to raise to him! If you desire to see God more here, you can pray during the services and be a real, real difference-maker for the Kingdom. |

Teaching
What is this Ministry?
• The Teaching Ministry is the pulpit ministry at the BICF. It involves preparing sermons for our Sunday morning celebration services and preaching as needed.
What is my commitment? How often? What do I do?
• We are on a teaching rotation so you can preach as often or as much as you’re able. We often ask people to preach once every 4-8 weeks. You’ll need to prepare and follow the preaching guidelines of the BICF ZGC.
Do I need any training? How can I get it?
• The training required for preaching is not provided by the BICF.
What should I do to get involved? Who do I contact?
• If you have the gift of preaching and would like to get involved with the Teaching ministry at the BICF, please contact the elders through Mark Blair ( markblair(a)bicf.org ). To take part in this ministry, it is crucial that you are involved in other areas of the church for at least six months. Additionally, please provide a recording of a past sermon to the elders.
Why should I do this ministry?
• The gift of preaching and sharing the Word with the body of Christ is a ministry that is powerfully used by the Holy Spirit. If this is your gift and you have preached before, you know valuable it is to share with God’s people. We want to give you a chance to share from you heart with our congregation here in Beijing. Please contact the elders if you feel God’s call in your heart. |
