THE EMBASSY - YOUNG ADULTS MINISTRY“For we are therefore Christ’s ambassadors” – 2 Corinthians 5:20 …to transform both the hearts and minds of the 20-something foreigner population in Beijing by establishing a Chirst-centered, gospel-based family which encourages, equips, and enables His Ambassadors to live with integrity and spread the good news of Jesus Christ. The Embassy, founded March of 2007, is the Beijing International Christian Fellowship’s Young Adults Ministry. The Embassy is a God fearing, God loving, Jesus worshiping, vibrant community of young adult Xpats united by the desire to learn and experience more of who God is, what that means to us as HIS ambassadors, and what responsibilities that leaves us with in this lost world. We have come together in worship every Thursday night for the past year and have seen God unite and bless the lives of those in The Embassy. Every week we have over 40 attendees, ranging in ages from 18-30+, representing more than 20 nations across the globe. We have had speakers come and lead discussions on thought provoking inssues, including: Christianity and the Media; Grace; Sex; Evil; addition to the more traditional sermon or seminar type atmosphere, we have also had members of the BICF share their testimonies. It seems that God has designed this group with two equeally important messages: Challenges of the HEART, and Challenges of the MIND. The leadership of this group truly believes that in order to maintain firm in the FAITH, both the heart and the mind must be ministered to. Thus we are in relentless pursuit of Spiritual knowledge and Truth, which is only found in the WORD, and through the ministers of it. We hang out, make friends, share our crazy experiences of living in China and get together every Thursday night to study the WORD. "For we are therefore Christ's ambassadors" Sing to the Lord, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day. I used to ask God to help me. Then I asked if I might help Him. I ended up by asking Him to do his work through me. In Him, Leadership: Samuel Weatherford |
